Is the third time the charm for Eminem and ex-wife Kim Mathers?
Rumors continue to swirl that the hip-hop star has reconciled with estranged wife, but a source told Us Weekly on Thursday that while they have a strong relationship as parents, the two have yet to get back together romantically.
"They really have a great relationship now as parents," Us Weekly reported. "Despite everything Em has been through with addictions, he's always always been an amazing father, and always had a place in his heart for Kim because of their history and the kids. Now that they've both gotten older and sober they both are way more mature."
Dennis Dennehy, a rep for the "8 Mile" actor told E! News the two continue to have a great friendship and share the responsibly of parenting.
Rumors began buzzing after Radar Online published an interview with Mather's mother, Kathy Sluck, said she was relieved that the pair "might" get back together.
"She has been clean all these years, she just takes care of her family. She's doing very well," Sluck said. "I think they might [get back together soon], they get on better than ever."
Sluck added the rumored couple see each other all the time and that the 41-year-old Detroit-based star was currently building a new home for Mather's. Eminem, 41, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, met Kim when they were just teenagers. They married in 1999, got divorced in 2001, only to remarry in 2006 and divorce again that same year.
Their on-again, off-again relationship has been documented in Eminem's music, such as his controversial 2000 song "Kim," in which the rapper released his wrath on his former love and how their rocky relationship was marred by drug use and infidelity.
The duo have one biological child together, daughter Hailie, who was born in 1995. The rapper also has custody of Whitney, Mather's daughter from a previous relationship, as well as Aliana, the daughter of Kim's twin sister, Dawn.
Eminem and Kim were most recently together when their daughter, Hailie, was crowned Homecoming Queen of Chippewa Valley High School last month. Hailie stepped out at the event with her mother, while her father reportedly watched from inside the school.
In 2010, Eminem described how difficult it is for him to date during an interview with Rolling Stone.
"As far as going out, like dinner and a movi, I just can't," he said. "Going out in public is just too crazy. I mean, I'd like to be in a relationship again someday. Who doesn't? It's just hard to meet new people, in my position."
