Adam Levine Maroon 5: Playing the Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show?

Maroon 5 may be the next act at the Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show on February 7, 2016, with Adam Levine and the other members of Maroon 5 reportedly getting into "extensive talks" about it.

According to E! News, it's not only Maroon 5 vying for the Halftime Show spot at the 50th Super Bowl, other big names on the list include Coldplay, which was runner up this year but lost to Katy Perry, and Bruno Mars, who performed in 2014.

Last month, Billboard reported Bruno Mars "curating" the performance, but since it is still early to know, this news remains to be seen.

According to The Inquisitr, a big issue that surfaced regarding last year's Super Bowl Halftime Show was that artists were rumored to buy their way to the spot. Reports claim that even Rihanna, Coldplay and Katy Perry had to pay a huge sum for the halftime spot.

The NFL reportedly told each act that they should "contribute a portion of their post-Super Bowl tour income to the league, or if they would make some other type of financial contribution in exchange for the halftime gig," according to the Wall Street Journal. Though the artists are not entirely in agreement with the request and the NFL doesn't pay the acts, the artists get free publicity in return as the Super Bowl is considered one of the largest televised events in any year.

As for Adam Levine and Maroon 5 performing at next year's Super Bowl Halftime Show, only time will tell. It is possible though that Adam's friends and "The Voice" coaches Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani and Christina Aguilera could join Maroon 5. In 2014, Bruno Mars performed with Red Hot Chili Peppers. This year, Katy Perry had Missy Elliott as a guest. The surprise guests and joint performances made their Halftime shows the most watched Super Bowls in history, according to Billboard.

One thing's for sure, fans are already pretty excited with the sound of Adam Levine and Maroon 5 at the Super Bowl 50.
