Selena Gomez on Being the Good Girl 'I'm the Girl You Want to Take Home to Your Parents'

Selena Gomez has tried rebelling and decided it is not for her.

The 21-year-old pop princess told Teen Vogue that she will not be re-inventing her image in the wake of her breakup with Justin Bieber.

"Part of you wants to have that rebellious feeling where you're just like, forget it-I can do anything I want," she said. "I've tried it, and I've never been that girl. I'm always going to be the girl you want to take home to your parents, not for the night."

However the "Come & Get it" singer considers herself a hopeless romantic.

"You fall in love and it completely consumes you," she said. "So a part of you is broken when that's gone."

Gomez told the magazine about wanting to meet new people and explore her options.

"I like to say I have a good sense of judgment, but I know that not everybody does," she said. "The older I've gotten, the more I've learned that I have to open myself up to all opportunities. Maybe I'll get burned and not meet the right people, but I won't know until I do it."

Gomez remains optimistic about her uncertain future.

"I'm 21, so now I've entered the decade of confusion about who I am and what I want to do with my life," she said. "That's what this entire decade's going to be."
