Do you mind eating on the toilet?

A restaurant trend that has been popular in Taiwan for several years has made its way to Los Angeles, the bathroom-themed eatery. According to Eater LA, Magic Restroom Café opened on Oct. 11 in the City of Industry's Four Seasons Plaza.

The café is outfitted in a manner befitting its name. The café is adorned with both urinals and toilets, and the prime tables have showerheads fitted on the adjoining wall. The waiting room also follows the theme, as it is decorated with non-functioning urinals and toilets.

"Ladies, no worries.... The seats are already down," joked one Yelp reviewer. "Toilet seat covers are available upon request (possibly)."

Restaurant staff encourages diners to pose will all bathroom facilities.

The potty humor extends to the menu, which includes items like "golden poop rice," a combination of chicken wings, Taiwanese sausage and fired tofu; "black poop," a chocolate sundae; "bloody number two," a vanilla-strawberry sundae; and "smells-like poop," braised pork over rice.

According to Eater LA, many of the menu items are of a specific texture as would befit food served in miniature toilet bowls imported from Japan. Eater also reports the actual restrooms are disappointing.

The restaurant averaged three stars on Yelp and most of the complaints are based on slow service and cold food.

Magic Restrooms Café's owner YoYo Li said he witnessed the chain's success in Taiwan and China and was inspired to bring restroom dining to the States. Modern Toilet in Taipei is the themed restaurant that has inspired the spread of over a dozen toilet eateries in Taiwan.
