Rumors broke a few days ago regarding Mark Ruffalo's next appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe months after it was revealed that his character, Hulk, had been cut off from the "Captain America: Civil War" storyline, and now it's been confirmed as part of the "Thor: Ragnarok" cast, leading to speculation about a beloved comic book story being brought to the big screen.
For months on end, there has been persistent speculation about a future adaptation of "Planet Hulk," a Marvel Comics storyline that began in 2006, where the character was sent off to a distant planet to prevent him from harming everyone - could Ruffalo's appearance in the "Thor: Ragnarok" cast lead to this storyline?
According to Deadline, Marvel is very close to a deal with the Oscar-nominated actor for him to be part of the "Thor: Ragnarok" cast, which would reportedly be his first appearance in the MCU after this year's "Avengers: Age of Ultron."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, other actors confirmed as part of the "Thor: Ragnarok" cast so far are Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif.
