Months after taking the FIFA Women's World Cup home for the United States last summer, once again the soccer goalkeeper for the U.S. national team is surrounded by controversy - this time, it's Hope Solo's "DwtS" time under the scope.
Hope Solo's "DwtS" work came during 2011, when the athlete was part of 13th season of "Dancing with the Stars" and partnered up with Maksim Chmerkovskiy, making it all the way to the show's semi-finals that season - but well beyond her dance expertise, it seems like her dance partner couldn't stand her, and four years later, still doesn't.
According to Yahoo! News, earlier this week Chmerkovskiy publicly slammed the World Cup winner over her behavior, calling her a "bad person" among other things, remembering Hope Solo's "DwtS" time years back, when they famously didn't get along very well.
"She's just a sh**ty person," the professional dancer said of Hope Solo's "DwtS" time, TMZ reports. "You can have a sh**ty life growing up ... but if you're a bad person, there's no excuse for that."
As Us Weekly reports, the fact that the dancer and the soccer star don't get along is hardly a revelation, as following Hope Solo's "DwtS" time, the goalkeeper famously dissed Chmerkovskiy in a memoir she released the following year, "Solo: A Memoir of Hope," when she claimed that the reality star had slapped her in the face during rehearsals for the contest show, saying he'd "manhandled" her by "pushing [her], whacking [her] stomach, bending [her] arms roughly" time and again during their time working dance moves.
Solo herself has a history of alleged abuse, as last year she was arrested and charged with two misdemeanor charges of assault against her sister and nephew, and it has been an ongoing battle with her family ever since.
In any case, one thing is clear: neither of them holds very nice memories of Hope Solo's "DwtS" time!
