Kurt Russell has joined the cast of "Fast & Furious 7".
Co-star Vin Diesel confirmed the veteran actor would be joining him and the rest of the Fast & Furious family for the next installment of the series, with a post to Facebook on Tuesday.
Diesel, 46, shared a picture of himself, Paul Walker, and Russell with his fans and noted that it was "such an honor to work with" Russell.
"P.S. One from the Set," he wrote.
In the picture the three men share concerned looks while gathered together in what looks like an auto repair shop.
According to Us Weekly, Russel also confirmed his involvment in the high action flick during an interview with Moviefone, after his new film, "The Art of the Steal," debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival.
"I'd just gone down there to work with a writer," he told Moviefone. "I was doing 'Fast & Furious 7' and they're having some fun with taking a look at this new character who, at the end of it, I think we probably are gonna kill off. [Laughs] We're having a good time, and I didn't know I was going to be doing that."
The movie is slated for a July 11, 2014 release.
The Fast & Furious franchise is still considered one of the most lucrative of all time, with the first five movies in the series bringing in $1.6 billion at the global box office.
Russell began acting at the age of 10. His films include "Escape from New York", "Tequila Sunrise", "The Thing," and "Silkwood".
Twitter fans seemed excited by the news.
