Former "Bachelor" contestant Gia Allemand was laid to rest Thursday morning.
Friends and family celebrated her life and said goodbye to the reality star during a public funeral service held at Trinity Grace Church in New York City, according to ABC News. On a side street in the Chelsea neighborhood, a group people gathered in the rain outside the church.
According to ABC News, the service program read: "The family of Gia Allemand wishes to express their sincerest gratitude to all those, near and far, who have extended words of encouragement and support during this time of incredible loss."
Photographers snapped pictures as a car pulled up to the church filled with floral bouquets with a large sign that read "Gia".
According to Yahoo News, among those in attendance were Allemand's boyfriend, NBA basketball player Ryan Anderson, her mother, Donna Micheletti, and father Eugene Allemand, who sat in the back of the church and cried.
Allemand's favorite hymn, "Amazing Grace" was performed during the hour-long service. Two close friends offered eulogies.
"I've known her since she was 3 years old. Gia seemed like she had everything," said a friend identified only as Becca. "I want to correct this misconception. Gia didn't have everything; she gave everything -- support and laughter, happiness and strength, inspiration and love."
The 29-year-old committed suicide earlier this month. According to the police report, Allemand had been arguing with Anderson over suspicions that he had been cheating on her. When Anderson dropped Allemand off at her New Orleans apartment, he said, "I don't love you anymore," according to his statement to police.
The New York Daily News, reported that two hours later, Micheletti called Anderson, expressing concern about her daughter. When Anderson went to Allemand's apartment to check on her, he found her hanging from a vacuum cleaner cord.
Allemand was rushed to the hospital and died two days later after she was taken off life support. Anderson was by her side. According to "Omg! Insider" there was a line in the program on Thursday, which read "Gia was the loving girlfriend 'Petrie' to Ryan's 'Snuggy'."
According to Yahoo News, as the coffin was carried from the church, Anderson walked behind it arm in arm with Allemand's mother, who carried a yellow rose to say his final goodbyes.
