Naya Rivera on Cory Monteith Death: 'Cory Was and Always will Be a Part of my Family and a Good Friend'

The kind and emotional words of Cory Monteith's sudden death continue to pour In. 

Naya Rivera, who starred along Monteith on "Glee" since season one, issued a statement to honor her co-star.

"The entire Glee family and I are deeply saddened by the tragedy. Cory was and always will be a part of my family  and a good friend," she said. "He was a special part of my world and will forever be missed. My heart goes out to Cory's family and Lea and while we are grateful for everyone's well wishes, privacy during this time of grief is greatly appreciated."

Rivera and Monteith shared many scenes together over four seasons of the FOX series.

The duo sang many songs together such as Madonna's "Like a Virgin," and Coldplay's "The Scientist." The 31-year-old was found dead in a hotel room in Vancouver. 

Other cast members also took time to express their feelings for their last friend. 

Dot Marie Jones, who played Finn's football coach, tweeted on Sunday. "I have no words! My heart is broken Cory was not only a hell of a friend he was one amazing men that I will hold close to my heart forever."
