Is Superman gearing up for "Fifty Shades of Grey?"
Rumors have been floating around this summer, claiming that "Man of Steel" star Henry Cavill is up to play the role of Jake Hyde - Anastasia's boss - in "Fifty Shades Darker."
But apparently, the rumor mill is wrong this time around. "Fifty Shades" producer Dana Brunetti told E! News' Marc Malkin at the 2015 Emmys: "We're nowhere near casting. [...] We haven't gotten into anything like that."
Dana Brunetti even added, "We don't even have a casting director on it yet." So everything is still in the works, but who knows - they might actually cast Henry Cavill in the end!
Henry Cavill isn't the only one who was linked to casting rumors for "Fifty Shades Darker." In fact, Charlize Theron was also rumored to play Elena Lincoln, AKA Mrs. Robinson.
She immediately debunked rumors with a few jokes - watch it below!
As of the moment, casting rumors are simply still rumors. Brunetti explains:
"It's so insane. [...] Someboday posts something on some obscure blog and then it gets picked up by something a little less obscure and it keeps going. Fans are starting the news by saying things like [the Cavill casting]."
However, Henry Cavill didn't de-bunk those "Fifty Shades" rumors -- like most celebrities would - even when he was promoting "Man from U.N.C.L.E." back in July.
When asked about the rumors, Henry Cavill told E! News, "Basically what I can say is I can't say anything about it right now."
Nothing is set in stone for "Fifty Shades Darker" yet, but it's highly likely that James Foley is set to direct the upcoming sequel.
As expected, Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan are also set to reprise their roles of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey for "Fifty Shades Darker."
The sequel is scheduled to open in theatres on February 10, 2017.
Henry Cavill net worth is $14 million.
