Stephen Colbert's second episode viewership declined to 3.7 million making Jimmy Fallon's "Tonight Show" in the lead, having 4.1 million viewers, on the average - all because of Justine's and Jimmy's performance of "History of Rap."
After showing photos of his five month old son, Silas, Justin Timberlake hit the stage and sang alternately with Jimmy, in a speedy breath taking succession, of rap hits - 23 all in all, rolled in to one epic medley - that proved be a smashing hit from netizens all over the world, having been viewed for 4.4 million as of press time. But Fallon didn't just end there, as he pulled up another ace by having Ellen DeGeneres fight with him in one of his popular segment, the "Lip Sync Battle."
The talk show host started the set by lip synching to the Killer's "Mr. Brightside" while Ellen gave her light and funny take on Diana Ross' "Do You Know Where You're Going To." The crowd went crazy when Jimmy Fallon danced while performing Silento's "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)". The battle ended as Justin Timberlake favored Ellen for her take on Rihanna's "Bitch Better Have My Money." To date, the epic lip synching video has now 3.9 million views.
As for the CBS late night show host, Stephen Colbert's offering for his second episode, he brought the house down with his interviews from a star-studded line up: actress Scarlett Johansson, entrepreneur Elon Musk, and pro rapper Kendrick Lamar.
There's no stopping the battle for late night TV ratings reign as Colbert announces that Vice President Joe Biden will be on Thursday, while Fallon will be hosting presidential candidate Donald Trump on Friday.
