Idris Elba James Bond: Response To ‘Too Street’ Anthony Horowitz Shows Exactly Why Elba SHOULD Be Next 007 – But Fans Want Tom Hardy!

Even though there has been absolutely no confirmation on the part of EON Productions, the company that has owned the rights to the film franchise for decades, Idris Elba's James Bond support keeps growing in spite of criticism, even after a recent scandal over racism.

The new campaign to get Idris Elba as James Bond seemingly started during the Sony Pictures leak, when one of the e-mails saw someone proposing Elba to fill in for Daniel Craig once his contract was done; ever since, fans have rallied to the defense of the "Luther" actor.

Recently, Anthony Horowitz, the latest writer to pen an authorized 007 novel, said in an interview that he didn't see Idris Elba as James Bond, calling the "Thor" actor "too street" and not suave enough to portray the role, prompting waves of discomfort in social media and cries of racism.

According to The Guardian, days after the Idris Elba James Bond controversy, the actor has spoken out about Horowitz's comments, and his response is perfectly worthy of the smoothest spy ever to grace the big screen.

"Always keep smiling!" wrote the actor on his Instagram account, posting a snap of Horowitz's apology for his comments. "It takes no energy and never hurts! Learned that from the Street!"

As BBC reports, even though there has been no official offer from the 007 producers, the actor has had a positive reaction to the public's approval of Idris Elba as James Bond, saying he feels like a "national treasure" for the outpour of love by being thrown in the mix of the Bond speculation.

It has been reported that after this year's "Spectre" Craig has another film on his contract, but then his replacement is everyone's guess - and according to Franchise Herald, a recent poll in Ireland shows that the favorite to get the role is actually Tom Hardy, not Elba.

Could fan support get Idris Elba as James Bond in the end?
