Katy Perry received an apology from a fan over a WhatsApp message that went viral.
During her Prismatic World Tour in Australia, the 'Roar' hit maker took a phone from a fan and read one message, "LOL I heard she can't sing live at all." After reading the message, Perry took a selfie and joked, "He's not going to be happy about that. Just sent him a little picture."
"He's your ex-boyfriend and you still have a WhatsApp group with him?," Perry told the fan, after she clarified that the message was from her ex. Then the singer advised her not to text her former lover anymore and said"We need to talk after the show," according to E! Online.
After the concert, a fake screenshot subsequently emerged on the internet, showing Katy taking a selfie and along with the photo is a message that reads, "You thought I would never see this chat, you dickless monkey. You have no balls, pussy. Cunt."
On Tuesday, Perry strongly denied it, claiming she would never do such thing, she tweeted, "I NEVER wrote those words, that is an EDITED picture or the person added it after I took it. I would NEVER use the C word."
A fan responsible for the hoax replied, "I put this together back in December as a joke with NO intentions of any conflict. Please realize I had no bad intentions," the Twitter user which was identified as @iwasdivine told Perry.
Adding, "If anything it was supposed to make people laugh, not spread like wildfire through media. I apologize for any confusions."
With the explanation, Perry accepted the apology and she responded, "Thank you for your apology."
The person responsible of the prank tweeted back "My hearts pounding but I'm just really happy she accepted it."
The one who weaved the supposed joke explained, "My tweets are strictly for humor, love, and nothing else," as per E! Online.
