Two years after becoming Avril Lavigne's husband, it has now been officially announced that Nickelback lead singer and guitarist Chad Kroeger is splitting up from the punk-rock princess, though it has been said that the two are parting ways amicably.
On July 13, 2013, Kroeger became Avril Lavigne's husband in a lavishly beautiful ceremony by the Mediterranean sea in the South of France, the country where the "Complicated" singer resides, one year after they started dated, and things seemed to be going great between the two - but the past few weeks had seen many rumors regarding a possible split, now confirmed.
According to E! Online, news of the split came after the "When You're Gone" singer took to Instagram to share the sad event, explaining that Kroeger was on the way to stop being Avril Lavigne's husband, confirming rumors that the two had called it quits.
"It is with heavy heart that Chad and I announce our separation today," wrote the 30 year-old blonde on her Instagram, announcing her split from Avril Lavigne's husband, Hollywood Life reports. "Through not only the marriage, but the music as well, we've created many unforgettable moments. We are still, and forever will be, the best of friends, and will always care deeply for each other. To all our family, friends and fans, thank you for your support."
People Magazine reports that the relationship had been seen as doomed basically from the start, as only a year after the two rockers tied the knot, there were already rumors regarding Avril Lavigne's husband already being estranged from his wife and fellow musician.
Both of them have been suffering from illnesses lately, with Lavigne announcing a few months back that she has been dealing with Lyme disease, while Kroeger recently had a cyst removed from his vocal chords, which caused his band Nickelback to stop touring for the remainder of 2015.
Hopefully they can both find peace and Avril Lavigne's husband recovers from his currently weak vocal chords.
