Forbes is currently releasing its yearly lists of highest paid actors and actresses in the industry, and the latest of these counts the "Big Bang Theory" cast in for a treat, as its two leading male stars, namely Johnny Galecki and multiple Emmy winner Jim Parsons, are making more than everyone else right now!
There are two separate Forbes lists for highest-paid television performers, one for actors and one for actresses, and this year it was the guys' turn to go first, with the "Big Bang Theory" cast being the clear winner, as Parsons topped the list only to be quickly followed by co-star Galecki.
This year's full list of highest-paid actors in television can currently be found in Forbes' site, where a fascinating detail was pointed out: besides the two lead stars from the "Big Bang Theory" cast, in fact 11 out of the 15 actors listed helm from sitcoms, as it appears it's much more profitable to star in comedy than it is in drama.
Interestingly enough, all four main actors from the "Big Bang Theory" cast made the list, in the following order: Parsons took the lead, making $29 million this year for his role as Sheldon Cooper; Galecki is the second highest paid actor in television at $27 million for playing Leonard Hofstadter; with Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar tied in the third spot at $20 million for their roles as Howard Holowitz and Rajesh Koothrapali.
Besides half the "Big Bang Theory" cast, NCIS' Mark Hamon and "Two and a Half Men" Ashton Kutcher were also tied for the third spot in the list.
As Flavor Wire points out, in fact Nayyar is the only non-white person on the list, which also includes "Modern Family" cast members Ty Burell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ed O'Neill and Eric Stonestreet.
Congratulations to the "Big Bang Theory" cast for their very high salaries - and let's see who takes the top spot for the women later on, as it could be either Kaley Cuoco or "Modern Family" actress Sofia Vergara!
