The death of Kathie Lee Gifford's husband came at a complete surprise for the family, even though he was 84, as the singer, comedian and actress revealed on Today that only two days before passing away, Frank had actually received the best medical report he'd had in years.
"You know what I hadn't told people?" she said on the show, reminiscing the last days Kathie Lee Gifford's husband was alive to Philbin and Hoda Kotkb. "He had just gotten the best medical report he'd had in eight years on Friday. He was doing great."
According to People Magazine, the most painful part of the death of Kathie Lee Gifford's husband was telling their children, particularly 22 year-old daughter Cassidy, who wasn't available at the time but rather on a flight to Santa Fe to shoot her new film, "Angels and Outlaws," and she had to find out away from home, when a Delta Airlines employee managed to intercept her during a Minnesota layover to tell her she should call home.
According to The Daily Mail, the star refused to throw a funeral for Kathie Lee Gifford's husband, since Frank hated them during his life, so instead his widow decided on something different: she threw a party in his honor.
The party included an all-day showdown of Frank Sinatra, an artist Frank loved, and only those he "adored" was present, in what sounds like a truly lovely tribute.
Days after Kathie Lee Gifford's husband passed, the beloved talk show host seems much more at ease with the situation.
