Over the past few months, the "Wolverine" actor has proved to be a major fan of app Dubsmash, with Hugh Jackman's Instagram showing some mad lip syncing skills lately, from that "Adventure Time" anthem to pancakes to Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" - and now, it's time for him to do some impressions!
Although nobody would ever picture the "Les Miserables" actor on a Jim Carrey-like role, Hugh Jackman's Instagram shows he can definitely pull off arguably the actor's most iconic role, "The Mask" - and Carrey was quick to return the favor, "X-Men" style!
According to News.com.au, the epic showdown between these two beloved actors started on Hugh Jackman's Instagram, when the Oscar nominee did a sweet impression of Carrey's most famous line in "The Mask," by saying "smokin'" to his phone's screen while doing the signature facial contortions associated with Carrey.
"#JimCarrey mate trying my best to do justice! Clearly, I should stay in my own lane," wrote Jackman along with the short clip, which has gotten over 96,000 likes since it was posted three days ago.

As Entertainment Tonight reports, following Hugh Jackman's Instagram post, Carrey found the whole thing so amusing that he decided to up the ante, taking to his Twitter account to show how he'd look if he were Logan, the mutant character that Jackman has been playing for the past 15 years.
Needless to say, Carrey's version is hilarious, trading Wolverine's claws for utensils and looking not-at-all menacing - and it's a fantastic response to Hugh Jackman's Instagram!

Jackman will be hanging up his claws in 2017 by playing Wolverine one last time, after continually doing so since 2000 - but we'll always have Hugh Jackman's Instagram memories to cheer us up!
