Natalie Dormer Interview: ‘Game Of Thrones’ Margaery Tyrell EVERYONE’s Objectified In Film – ‘Stop Slagging Off Feminism’!

The subject of objectification in visual media (particularly film and cable or subscription television) has been a major cause of concern in the past few years, with HBO's "Game of Thrones" being particularly on the target over its treatment of women - but at least one of the stars has revealed, in a recent Natalie Dormer interview, that it's not just women going through this ordeal.

Taking a controversial stand in a hot topic, the latest Natalie Dormer interview has gone viral after the 33 year-old English actress has called out people to consider male actors are also a victim of this, plus asking young women to "stop slagging off feminism" after what's happened in the past few centuries.

According to Salon, the Natalie Dormer interview happened on Radio Times in the UK earlier this week, when she was asked about the subject of female objectification in television shows, although not speaking specifically about the HBO epic series.

"My personal experience has been to work on phenomenal jobs in which the men are objectified as much as the women," said Dormer, Cinema Blend reports. "Actors suffer from it, too. Wasn't there a thing about Aidan Turner in 'Poldark'? It's a visual medium, so to a certain extent you get judged on the way you look."

"Game of Thrones" has been heavily criticized over its violence towards women, including last season's Sansa Stark rape scene as well as the death of Shireen Baratheon; however, a separate Natalie Dormer interview with The Telegraph a few months back saw the actress defending the show's stand.

According to Business-Standard, that's not the only Natalie Dormer interview making headlines these days, as the actress was also visibly upset a few days back when speaking about women in their 20s who "slag off" feminism, reminding them that 230 years ago in the United Kingdom, women were treated as men's property.

After being part of two successful period dramas ("Thrones" and "The Tudors"), Dormer knows a little of what she's talking about - plus, she's also promoting her new BBC film "The Scandalous Lady W," another period piece.
