According to Entertainment Tonight Online, Demi Lovato's Cosmopolitan shoot came into light when the National Center on Sexual Exploitation launched a campaign recently asking supermarkets to protect children from viewing the magazine's covers, saying they should be wrapped "like all other porn magazines" that can be found in retail stores.
So far, Rite Aid and Food Lion have followed suit, removing Demi Lovato's Cosmopolitan cover from public view.
E! Online reports that the singer and actress, currently promoting her single "Cool for the Summer," wasn't about to let haters bring down the Demi Lovato Cosmopolitan cover, as she took to Instagram to send a message against the campaign against her photo shoot.
So far, Rite Aid and Food Lion have followed suit, removing Demi Lovato’s Cosmopolitan cover from public view.
"What these individuals who are protesting don’t understand is that for the first time in a long time I feel incredibly EMPOWERED and the MOST BEAUTIFUL I’ve ever felt on this magazine," Lovato told her Instagram followers. "It's so liberating to be able to show the world how confident a woman can be once she learns to love herself."
The very magazine the photo shoot reported on the media response to Demi Lovato’s Cosmopolitan cover, speaking about the retorting campaign, which goes under the hashtag #UnwrapMyCosmo.
