Katy Perry Bumps Into Russell Brand

Ex-celebrity spouse Katy Perry and Russell Brand came face to face on Tuesday during the NBA match between Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks at the Staples Center, perhaps their first appearance together in a public space after the divorce.

The 28-year-old singer married Brand (37) in 2010 but it lasted only for 14 months after they filed for divorce late last year.

Wearing a leopard print dress, Katy Perry was accompanied by her father Keith Hudson and she was spotted cheering for the Los Angeles Lakers, pumping her fists in the air every time they scored. She looked happy as though she was not aware of her ex-hubby's presence.

Bearded and long-haired Russell Brand was in the front row opposite to where Katy Perry was sitting - they did exchange pleasantries though they aware of each other's presence. He wears a black wrist band and half-sleeve-shirts, revealing his tattoo.

Other celebrities spotted at the match were David Beckham and Robbie Keane.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand married on October 23, 2010 in a traditional Hindu ceremony in India after dating for a year. However, the marriage didn't last long as Brand filed for divorce from Perry on December 30, 2011 citing irreconcilable differences. They officially got separated July 2012.

Russell Brand has unsuccessfully dated a few girls including Isabella Brewster and Spice Girls lead singer Geri Halliwell, who was said to be humiliated after he fell for another girl.

Meanwhile, Katy Perry seems to have moved on after her first failed marriage and is said to be dating singer John Mayer.

She campaigned for Barack Obama by singing some of her most popular songs to the public. She hit the stage last week in a tight white dress with the words "PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES" printed across her chest, below which the names of Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney were written. A black mark was written next to his name.

The 28-year-old singer belted out some of her hit songs including "Teenage Dream" and "Firework", and also Obama's favourite song, Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" before a huge crowd at a free concert in Las Vegas. She had earlier this month sung at a fundraising event for the president.
