The Marvel Cinematic Universe keeps expanding further between movies and television shows, with the most recent development being the addition of Paul Rudd's Ant-Man to the Avengers; however, it's not just movies making headlines these days, with news about "Jessica Jones" on Netflix!
After the success of this year's "Daredevil" starring Charlie Cox, "Jessica Jones" on Netflix has been fairly overshadowed from its predecessor, but now that the streaming site and production company has released its plans for the rest of the year, the Krysten Ritter-led superhero show is finally getting its own shape!
According to IGN, the latest "Jessica Jones" Netflix news came during the Television Critics Association press tour, as they announced the premiere dates for a number of their upcoming projects, including Aziz Ansari's comedy "Master of None" (coming on Friday, November 6th) and the fourth season of "Longmire," set for a September 10 release"
As far as "Jessica Jones," Netflix reiterated their plans to launch the series by the end of 2015, although the specific date hasn't been released yet; however, as Bleeding Cool reports, Netflix has announced its scheduling plans for their three planned upcoming MCU shows, as it's been established they want to launch one of them every six months, which would mean two shows a year.
After "Jessica Jones," Netflix will be releasing "Luke Cage" and "Iron Fist" next year, all of which are leading up to "The Defenders," a different group of superheroes that works on a smaller level than the Avengers, although it wouldn't be surprising if they were all to meet up at some point.
According to Comic Book, not all these shows will have more than one season, as some of the story arches will be left after the first one to be developed further in "Defenders," though it's still unclear how that will go - although a second season for "Daredevil" has already been announced.
Considering "Daredevil" was released in early April, it might be safe to assume "Jessica Jones" on Netflix will be premiering come October.
