Katy Perry Jumps into Taylor Swift - Nicki Minaj Twitter War

Katy Perry has just thrown her hat into the ongoing twitter feud between Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj.

The dust up between the two pop megastars began on Tuesday when the nominations for the MTV video music awards were announced. Minaj took to twitter to voice her displeasure at her song 'Anaconda' being omitted from the short list for video of the year.

"When the 'other' girls drop a video that breaks records and impacts culture they get that nomination," said Minaj on her official Twitter page. She would go on to recap the video's immense imprint on popular culture this year, citing the numerous parodies, remakes, and memes that have been spawned as a result. Minaj ended her statement with a tweet suggesting that the nominations were slanted toward 'women with very slim bodies' and criticized MTV for not acknowledging the impact of black women in the industry.

Though Minaj listed no names during her rant, Taylor Swift obviously felt that some of the comments were aimed at her. The singer, whose star studded Bad Blood video was nominated for 8 awards, tweeted outed at Minaj saying:

"I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot."

Swift's reply started a massive back and forth as numerous celebrities, journalists, and fans began weighing in on her and Minaj's statements. The biggest name to enter the fray was fellow pop superstar Katy Perry. Perry, who has a history of beef with Swift, chimed in with this tweet:

"Finding it ironic to parade the pit women against other women argument about as one unmeasurably capitalizes on the take down of a woman," she said.

Swift's aforementioned Bad Blood is supposedly about her rivalry with Perry.
