Nuns Intensify Battle vs Katy Perry on Sale of their Convent

It's the nuns of the Most Holy and Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary against Katy Perry in a battle concerning the old convent, the CNN reports.

The pink-haired singer of the hit song, 'Roar', wanted the Los Feliz Villa, but the nuns have sold it to restaurant owner, Dana Hollister a mere two weeks ago.  If you do own the property, then you do have the right to sell it. The problem is, according to Jose Gomez, Roman Catholic Archbishop of Los Angeles, though the nuns own the property; he has a better right to sell it, because he oversees the management of funds of the aged nuns.

Here's the thing: the Holy Archbishop wants to sell it to Katy Perry, but the nuns are intensifying their battle, revealing their distaste for the singer. Should the sale push through, they have this to say: 'we are forced to violate our Canonical vows'.

The case is now in the courts, and it would be the difficult job of Judge Robert H. O'Brien to determine who has better right to sell the property, which is 8 acres big. Its appraised value is $ 15 million. The nuns are selling it to Hollister for $ 15.5 million, while the Archbishop is selling to Katy Perry at $ 14.5 million.

The Archbishop assures the nuns that the whole amount of the sale will be used for the care of the aged nuns, but the nuns do not have full trust on the Archbishop. They want to take care of themselves. They say he misappropriated $ 250,000 supposedly left by Mr. Donahue last year for the nuns, and he has failed to maintain the existing retreat house in the area.

The Archbishop wants the court to declare null and void the sale to Hollister, who has already started working on the premises. However, recently, Katy Perry was also allowed by the court to bring her architect to look at the property.

When asked why they oppose the sale to Katy Perry, who wanted to make a home in the old convent, Sister Rita Callanan said she looked up the singer's videos in the internet, and 'wasn't happy with any of it'.

It's a wait and see as to whose prayers will be answered.
