Atlanta rapper Young Thug was arrested on Wednesday morning, July 15 and was reportedly brought into a custody after he allegedly threatened to shoot one mall security guard in the face and for making "terroristic threats."
Reports say that Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffrey Lamar Williams, got himself into a fight with a mall security guard on July 7, Tuesday. As stated in the arrest warrant, the rapper allegedly threatened the security guard while he was being escorted from the Perimeter Mall.
According to Jim Joyner of the US Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, Young Thug was under arrest at 6AM in Sandy Springs, Georgia, and he was immediately brought to the Dekalb County Jail.
"Williams was wanted on an outstanding warrant charging him with terroristic threats stemming from an incident that occurred with the jurisdiction of the Dunwoody police," a spokesperson from the US Marshals said.
Besides facing his charge of assault, Thug has also violated another criminal law for making 'terrorist threats'.
"The crime of 'making a terrorist threat' is a creation of the last decade, enacted at both the state and federal levels, after the terrorist attacks of 9/11," Legal Match stated.
It further explained that, "It is a very general law that can be used to prosecute terrorists, but has been used far more often to prosecute other violations of criminal law such as domestic violence, hate crimes, bomb threats, and school violence. Indeed, in many states, the term 'terrorist' has been amended to mean simply criminal."
After the authorities roamed his home, Young Thug was faced with additional charges. He has been charged with cocaine possession, marijuana possession and three counts of gun possession.
In April, Young Thug debuted his new hit album 'Barter 6' which included tracks such as 'Constantly Hating', 'Can't Tell', 'Never Had It', 'Dream', 'Amazing', ' Knocked Off', 'Numbers' and 'Just Might Be'.
