Marvel's television shows have been breaking the boundaries of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the past couple of years, starting from "Agents of SHIELD" and then moving on to Netflix's gritty "Daredevil," a lead-up to "Defenders" - and it's also time for new info on the "Agent Carter" season 2!
A sort of prequel to the current state of the MCU, the first season of the show that sees Hayley Atwell reprising her role of Peggy Carter from "Captain America" is one of the strongest points on the MCU, taking up where the first film featuring Steve Rogers left off, with the "Agent Carter" season 2 upping the ante from the first New York City-based season.
According to Deadline, the same San Diego Comic-Con panel that saw the new "Agents of SHIELD" revelations also specified that the "Agent Carter" season 2 will be set in 1947 Los Angeles, and it will be heavily influenced by the iconic scandal of the Black Dahlia murder in Hollywood back in the day.
Io9 reports that the "Agent Carter" season 2 starts about six months after the season finale, and it's revealed that not everyone from the Strategic Scientific Reserve (SSR, a prelude to the current MCU SHIELD) remains in NYC, as the title character Peggy is called to L.A. to solve a murder - which will see the show's writers really embark on a film noir-like project!
According to TV Line, the "Agent Carter" season 2 will also feature a huge landmark for Atwell's character: she's finally starting to let go of Steve Rogers, better known as Captain America, as a new love interest is introduced - though seemingly nothing to do with the married Jarvis (James D'Arcy), despite all the tension between them.
In fact, D'Arcy will be returning in the second season as his character Edwin Jarvis (the Starks' butler, on whom Tony Stark would later base J.A.R.V.I.S.) will be setting up Howard Stark's (Dominic Cooper) L.A. home - and it seems like his wife will finally be introduced on the "Agent Carter" season 3 as well!
