Michelle Collins, Raven Symone Join 'The View' As Hosts

Michelle Collins, who has been a guest co-host for weeks on the American talk show "The View" alongside her fellow guest host Raven Symone, will now officially be joining as full-time hosts, according to reports.

An insider said that Collins brings a positive energy and keen sense of humor to the show. Before Collins and Raven have formally joined "The View," Whoopi Goldberg, the show moderator, said that they were already working on putting them both as regular hosts of the show.

"We love saying it, but Raven and Michelle will be back tomorrow," Goldberg told to the audiences in May. "We're trying to make it permanent, so write in to everybody."

The arrival of Collins and Raven took place after Rosie Perez's exit announcement on Wednesday, July 8. The segment featured the show panelist Rosie Perez, who was tearing up while talking about her decision to finally depart from the show after one season.

After speaking with Whoopi Goldberg and her co-host Nicole Wallace, the "Fish in the Dark" star went on to welcome the new members of the show.

Perez hugged Michelle Collins and Raven Symone as she bids her farewell and welcomes the newcomers. "Michelle, welcome. Raven, welcome," Perez said.

Perez joined the talk show last September 2014 but took her one-month break in January to rehearse for the Broadway play "Fish in the Dark" by Larry David. The theater actress is now permanently leaving the show as she pursues a full time career in acting.

Collins on the other hand, aside from officially becoming part of "The View," also appeared in a couple of TV shows such the "Walk of Shame Shuttle," LOGO's "The Gossip Queens," "Kathy." She also launched a few of her own titles, including "VH1's Best Week Ever" and "Martini Minute."

Aside from completely engaging herself in the television industry, the actress and reality TV star is also doing various charitable acts, including her run to promote the need for basic rights to education.

She is also an ambassadress for the 'Ambitious about Autism' and she remains involved in a variety of fund raising projects, including her project for 'Breakthrough Breast Cancer' patients.
