Foodies around the world are well known for being much more flexible when it comes to their eating habits, as they're far more willing to try out different and more exotic meals in their regular diets - something that, according to a recent study, helps food lovers 2015 actually become slimmer than pickier eaters!
Recent research from Cornell University has pointed out that food lovers 2015 have a fairly good reason to show off, because besides being far more intrepid and having tried out many more things in their lifetimes, they actually have a tendency to have lower body mass indexes.
According to The Telegraph, researchers divided 502 women in the U.S. between those who had tried at least nine exotic plates (such as kimchi or beef tongue) and those who were more conservative food lovers 2015, and scientists were astonished to find out that those who were more likely to try exotic meals would have a tendency to be leaner.
Shape reports that for now the actual reason behind the fact that more adventurous food lovers 2015 tend to be slimmer, but the Cornell research team currently works under the assumption that these people tend to be open to the benefits of different groups of foods, causing them to be exposed to different ingredients that might be better for their bodies in the long run.
It was also found that more conservative eaters tended to follow the lifestyle advice of celebrities (perhaps like Reese Witherspoon, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jessica Alba).
"There's a real advantage of liking a wide variety of food and being adventurous," said Dr. Brian Wansik, one of the food lovers 2015 authors, according to The Huffington Post. "If nothing else, you seem to have a lot more fun in life, and it might even get you a little healthier."
For now, the study involved only women, so there's no way of knowing if there's any significant difference between genders in this aspect.
