Young Man Offers $10,000 Reward For Anyone Who Can Play "Cupid"

This young man got tired of numerous unsuccessful dates for the past 12 months and now he wants to do things in a bizarre way, with the hope that he can finally meet the girl of his dream and eventually end up marrying her.

This Alabama guy created a website offering a 10,000 reward to anyone who can play "cupid" or the one who can find him his perfect match.

Ren Lu You, currently living in Birmingham, Alabama created his own dating website, where participants can submit information about their female friends who might be interested in dating the 29 year old love seeker.

If Ren Lu You dates the lucky chosen woman for six months, the "cupid" or the one who played the matchmaker will be awarded with an outstanding $10,000.

Before starting his dating site, Ren Lu told Business Insider the reason behind his bizarre idea. He said, "I've been on a bunch of dates and gone through all the usual methods: friends of friends, introductions through coworkers, OkCupid, Match.com, Tinder, everything."

Even though he already went out for tons of dates, Ren Lu wasn't meeting the woman of his dream.

"With online dating you have this problem of adverse selection," You explained. "Only the people who self-select into a particular dating website are the people you have access to."

He further explained that this amount of money that he is willing to pay for the matchmaker doesnt mean anything if in return he can finally find the right girl that he can envision on marrying.

You said, "I would argue that all these things pale in importance to finding somebody you get along with and you may end up marrying. So $10,000 seemed pretty reasonable."

You is currently working full time as a private equity associate after graduating from Harvard Business School.
