The original musical, with a score written by Howard Ashman and Disney legend Alan Menken, is now more than 30 years old, and there's still only one woman in theater that can play Audrey like nobody's business, as the "Little Shop of Horrors" 2015 revival hits Broadway.

The recent "Little Shop of Horrors" 2015 revival is part of the New York City Center Encores! Off-Center program, which brings back beloved musicals starring major stars, this time around with Greene (who originated the role of Audrey on the stage and then played her in the movie) with Oscar nominee Jake Gyllenhaal, taking the role made famous on the big screen by Rick Moranis.
According to Variety, the "Little Shop of Horrors" 2015 revival will only consist of three shows, in a very casual performance that even contained script reading, where Gyllenhaal shined in his Broadway musical debut, though it was really Green who owned the stage.

Upon taking the last bow in the "Little Shop of Horrors" 2015 revival, Greene got a standing ovation that moved the "Pushing Daisies" actress almost to tears, after having played the role a variety of times in the past three decades.
Vulture reports that joining the "Little Shop of Horrors" 2015 revival was "SNL" star Taran Killam (also known as the husband of "How I Met Your Mother" actress Cobie Smulders) in the role of the sadistic dentist and Audrey's boyfriend, played by Steve Martin in the film version; other cast members included Tracy Nicole Chapman, Marva Hicks and Ronnette in the roles of the muse-like singers of the show.
News outlets such as Deadline praised the mise-en-scene, after all three performances completely sold out, as still being as fresh as the original play from 33 years ago, with Greene still owning the role with her seemingly ageless voice.
