Fans of the original film starring "SNL" alums Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Rick Moranis are waiting for more news about the all-female reboot since the announcement was made last January, and as production moves forward, the "Ghostbusters" costumes have been officially released!
Over the past 30 years, "Ghostbusters" costumes have become a Halloween classic, even turning into something of a pop culture reference in themselves, and now the reboot's director, Paul Feig, is showing the world just exactly how girls Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones will be looking when they're chasing ghosts!

According to iO9, the "Ghostbusters" costumes were revealed through Feig's Twitter last Monday, as he showed a picture of the uniforms in coat hangers, with the hashtag #whatyougonnawear in reference to the movie's classic theme song. "I'm having a lot of fun playing with genres," Feig told ComingSoon.net about the upcoming film, months before releasing the new "Ghostbusters" costumes. "You know, you see things on TV about ghosts, but none of it's real. What if, suddenly, something started happening? What happens when that just begins to happen to people? Also, how do they develop their technology?" Besides the "Ghostbusters" costumes, Feig recently shared another bit of iconic memorabilia from the film, currently being shot: the new famous proton packs, the ones used in the original movies to catch ghosts.

Both the costumes and the proton packs have an awesome retro look to them, though the modern approach is undeniable.
In other "Ghostbusters" related news, it seems like the rumored Channing Tatum-led project, with an all-male cast, won't be happening after all, as writer-producer Reid Carolin recently told Screen Rant that it's been scraped, as the brand would feel "over-saturated" with two projects underway.
While in the reboot the cast will be all female, the receptionist has been confirmed as a man: none other than Marvel's Avenger Thor, Chris Hemsworth!
Currently, the ladies are wearing their "Ghostbusters" costumes as principal photography is underway in New York City!
