Sam Smith can officially sing again, six weeks after going through vocal surgery that stopped him from performing, according to reports.
The 23-year old British singer-songwriter sent the good news on his Instagram page via a short video clip, showing him singing the Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love" with his signature loud tone.
"I'm back," Smith said a simple message to his fans. "Yours truly truly truly don't know what you got until you lose it. I have fallen in music all over again over this past month, and more than ever I feel so blessed to be able to sing and do what I love every day xx,".
Before relaying the news that he's finally back after a couple of weeks of resting his damaged voice, Smith also revealed earlier that he will go back to work by July 3 and is already scheduled to perform at a festival to be held in England's Thetford Forest.
The rising singer, who previously completed a row of scheduled tours, had been forced to cancel his remaining shows back in April after he obtained a vocal cord hemorrhage after his performance held in Sydney, Australia.
Smith sought help from a vocal specialist in Los Angeles and was immediately advised to take vocal surgery. On May 14, the singer went through the operation in Boston that resulted in him being voiceless in a couple of weeks.
The singer, who was only a laid-back bartender in London a few years back, boomed his career and acquired a global fan base after debuting his soulful track "Stay With Me."
He was a big winner during this year's Grammy Awards and took home three out of the four top honors during the night.
Sam Smith was recently seen out and about in the UK on Wednesday, June 3, with his family and friends after he revealed he can finally sing again.
The singer's upcoming shows include the Lollapalooza event in Chicago and Montreux Jazz Festival to be held in Switzerland. He also announced that he has already rescheduled the previously postponed shows for his Australian tour that is set to take place by the end of 2015.
