Def Leppard's guitarist Vivian Campbell is fighting cancer again, according to E! Online.
The 53-year old musician first broke out the news on his official Facebook account on Saturday, June 20, where Campbell shared his feelings after knowing that his cancer has returned.
"I'm saddened by the fact that my cancer has returned," Campbell wrote. "However, I was beyond consolation that its return will prevent me from being able to do my job for a while. I'm still working on a schedule of treatment with my doctors, but I will see you all very soon. My apologies."
Campbell, who was formely a member of Thin Lizzy, has acquired a massive support from his fans after sharing the news on social media.
The rock artist has battled cancer before, after he was examined with Hodgkin's Lymphoma back in 2013. In a statement released in June of the same year, he said "I'm about two months in and feeling rather spiffy, all things considered."
He added, "Hodgkin's has an over 80 percent cure rate, so by my reckoning, if you're going to have a cancer, Hodgie's is the one to have!"
Meanwhile, Campbell won't be able to continue going on tour with the band as he has been advised by his doctors to strictly follow his regular treatment schedule.
Deff Leppard will be launching their 48-city North American tour, with Puerto Rico as their first stop.
According to reports, Trixter's Steve Brown will be Campbell's temporary replacement for the band's upcoming shows.
A representative from the band said that Campbell will only skip the first few shows of their tour as his treatment scheme will be fixed so that he can immediately go back to work.
Deff Leppard's scheduled shows for the year include tours in Japan, Australia and United Kingdom, which will all go after their 48-city North American tour starting this June 27, Saturday.
