Stephenie Meyer Kristen Stewart: Reunion For Bella Swann And ‘Twilight’ Author – Edward Cullen-Robert Pattinson Nowhere To Be Found [PHOTO]

Fans of the "Twilight" books and movie franchise were more than delighted last Tuesday, when Stephenie Meyer and Kristen Stewart, the author of the books and star of the movies respectively, reunited for the first time in years, with male co-star and former boyfriend Robert Pattinson being notably absent.

The reunion between Stephenie Meyer and Kristen Stewart happened during the Women in Film gala earlier this week, as they showed the new competition "The Storytellers: New Voices of the Twilight Saga," a contest for young female filmmakers to create short films about the vampire story's origins.

Just Jared reports that the Women in Film's 2015 Crystal + Lucy Awards that saw Stephenie Meyer and Kristen Stewart take the stage together happened at the iconic Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Century City, California, as they both looked excited to share the new project.

"One of the most exciting parts of my personal experience has been getting to see all the creativity and talent of these women I've been introduced to and got to know," said the author, as both Stephenie Meyer and Kristen Stewart took the stage. "Because I have been so fortunate, I do feel a real responsibility to help other women find outlets for their voices. The Storytellers project has been an amazing opportunity, so rewarding and I'm so grateful to Lionsgate and Women In Film and all of our sponsors for helping to make this happen. What a gift to be able to work with up-and-coming writers and directors and to get them a platform where they can showcase their talents."

Lainey Gossip reports that the films will go through a panel of judges, including Stephenie Meyer and Kristen Stewart as well as Oscar winners Kate Winslet and Octavia Spencer and "Modern Family" actress Julie Bowen.

According to E! Online, Stephenie Meyer and Kristen Stewart weren't expected to come together on stage, as the actress' appearance on the award show hadn't been announced, with no press release about her invitation nor was she seen in the Tiffany blue carpet before the gala.
