It's been nearly a decade since the ending of "That 70s Show," the sitcom that made superstars out of Hollywood power couple Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher, and now, only a few months after the actor's latest show ended, it's time for Ashton Kutcher's Netflix debut!
Although there has been no official confirmation, it has been reported that Ashton Kutcher and Netflix are just steps away from finalizing the deal, creating a new sitcom for the streaming giant where he'll be joined by Scientologist friend Danny Masterson, who he knows since they were both in "That 70s Show" playing Michael Kelso and Steven Hyde.
The Ashton Kutcher Netflix story broke out thanks to Deadline, as the outlet reported that the actor, a TV vet after also having been a part of "Two and a Half Men" plus starring-producing "Punk'd," is in the final stages of a deal with the producing company behind "House of Cards."
Cinema Blend reports that the Ashton Kutcher Netflix sitcom, one of the first multi-camera projects for the producing company with a 20-episode order, will be called "The Ranch" and would see Don Reo and Jim Patterson (from "Two and a Half Men") as showrunners, while Kutcher and Masterson would be playing brothers.
In the show, Kutcher will play a semi-pro football player who comes back to his hometown to take care of the family business alongside brother Masterson.
According to Time Magazine, there's one thing different with Ashton Kutcher's Netflix series: as opposed to previous shows created by the streaming service, the full season of "The Ranch" wouldn't be released in its entirety, but rather in two batches of 10 episodes.
Kutcher and Masterson wouldn't be the first "That 70s Show" alums to join Netflix, as co-star Laura Prepon, who played Donna in the series, is part of the cast of the award-winning prison dramedy "Orange is the New Black."
It's unclear whether Kutcher's fiancé, Kunis, would be making any appearances for a good old-fashioned reunion in Ashton Kutcher's Netflix show.
