An Alcohol-Selling Taco Bell Will Open in San Francisco

Taco Bell recently announced that their upcoming San Francisco store would feature alcoholic drinks on its menu. Hoodline reports that the said store would be located at South of Market neighborhood (SoMa) of San Francisco.

"As part of our expansion into new urban markets, we're building a completely new Taco Bell concept and design in San Francisco," Taco Bell said in an email.

It continued, "The new restaurant will feature the same craveable, affordable, Mexican-inspired tastes at Taco Bell, along with a new line of appetizers, beer and wine."

The Taco Bell rep also added that this new "fancy" version of Taco Bell in San Francisco is not a U.S. Taco Co. & Urban Taproom - an upscale taco concept developed by the same company behind Taco Bell, Yum Brands.

The new Taco Bell would look just as fancy, while letting customers drink to their heart's desire while scoffing down some of their well known menu favorites.

A rendered mock-up of the "fancy" Taco Bell franchises feature interior design that will surely appeal to millennials. It includes exposed brick walls, an open kitchen, wood surfaces and bursts of color.

Just a few weeks ago, a Chicago Taco Bell said that they would be the first Taco Bell location to have alcoholic drinks on its menu. The beverages include "Twisted Freezes" Coronas and local beers.

The Taco Bell franchise in Chicago's Wicker Park follows the concepts undertaken in South Korea, Japan and United Kingdom.

It'll be no surprise if the Northern California Taco Bell will be selling the same beverages in its store. The name, opening date and official beverage menu from the SoMa Taco Bell has yet to be announced.

It seems as though Taco Bell is desperately trying to enhance their image. Along with new designs and updated menus, the brand aims to remove artificial coloring and flavoring from their menu items.
