[WATCH] Film Student Mashes Up 'Alien' and 'Prometheus' To Create An Amazing New Movie [VIDEO]

There is no question that the 1979 sci-fi horror flick 'Alien' is one of the most iconic and terrifying films ever made. However, the prequel 'Prometheus' received poor reviews despite its link to the successful franchise and an all-star cast including Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron and Michael Fassbender.

Things are about to change for Ridley Scott's 2012 film.

A young film student Job Willins has recently spliced the two films together to create a grand mash-up that magnifies their good points. The project, entitled 'Derelict' is shown completely in black and white and segues smoothly between 'Prometheus' in the past and 'Alien' in the future.

The movie starts with the android David (Fassbender) preparing for the crew of the ship Prometheus to awake from stasis. Meanwhile, in the future, the crew of the spacecraft Nostromo is awakened when the ship's computer changes course to investigate a distress signal.

Willins worked on the film as "an editing project for academic purposes." The aspiring filmmaker wanted to highlight the best parts of 'Prometheus' and successfully meld it with the franchise it belongs to.

"'Derelict' is in black & white to better marry the visual quality of the two originals (and also because both films look great in black & white)," Willins writes of the project. "Roughly 30 minutes has been cut from Prometheus and about an hour of Alien has been used in its place. Some content from the deleted scenes of Prometheus was also used."

'Alien' starred Sigourney Weaver, Tom Skerritt, Ian Holm and John Hurt.

'Prometheus' also starred Guy Pierce as the elderly CEO who wants to ask the Engineers how he could avoid death. It also features Idris Elba as the captain of the spacecraft and Logan Marshall-Green as the scientist who is infected with the biological weapon.

Another 'Alien' movie is reportedly under development. Weaver will return to the franchise and Neill Blomkamp has signed on to direct.
