‘The Program’ Lance Armstrong: Ben Foster Plays Tour De France Winner In Doping Scandal Biopic! [VIDEO]

There have been few people in the history of sports that have achieved so much to later tank so low as the winner of seven straight Tour de France competitions did after he confirmed years-long running rumors that he enhanced his performance, and "The Program," about Lance Armstrong, delves deeper into the famous cyclist's career.

As "The Program" about Lance Armstrong shows in its very first official trailer, the famous cyclist was considered an American hero for years, after not only achieving the incredible feat of winning the competition seven times in a row, but also having famously defeated cancer.

According to Yahoo! News, "The Program" about Lance Armstrong sees "Lone Survivor" star Ben Foster basically playing the villain of the story, after having been portrayed as a hero for a number of years.

"The Program" of Lance Armstrong references his regime of performance-enhancing drugs the cyclist and former Sheryl Crowe beau took during his active years in the sport.

Vulture reports that "The Program" of Lance Armstrong is actually only one of many upcoming biopics based on the athlete's rise and fall, including "Red Blooded American" starring Bradley Cooper and a rumored project where "Star Wars" director J.J. Abrams is involved, as well as a recent documentary called "The Armstrong Life" - it's clear that, ever since speaking about his drug enhancement past to Oprah Winfrey, the cyclist's story has become a hot subject for filmmakers.

"The Program," set for a fall 2015 release, is based on the 2012 book "Seven Deadly Sins: My Pursuit of Lance Armstrong," where author and journalist David Walsh tells the story of how he followed the truth about Armstrong's doping charges for more than a decade.

The film was directed by the man behind "The Queen" and "Philomena," Stephen Frears, and The Guardian reports that it also features the talents of Lee Pace, Dustin Hoffman, Chris O'Dowd and Guillaume Canet.
