Texas Officer Threatens Teens On Video; Resigns After Video Goes Viral

Texas police officer, Corporal, Eric Casebolt resigns after his actions that were caught on video becomes trending news. Casebolt was placed on administrative leave pending the investigation of his actions against black teens about a disturbance at a community pool. The officer in question apparently pushed down one teen in order to control her then after which, drew out his gun at the other black teens. Fellow officers then rushed to calm Casebolt down and who finally holstered back his gun. Casebolt, who is a 10 year veteran, was once awarded the patrolman the year in their department.

Citizens of McKinney Texas are already protesting for Casebolt to be removed from duty and continue to call his actions towards the teens as "Racial Bias". However, there are also some group of people who support Casebolts actions.

Police were called to a party at Craig Ranch North Community Pool because of reports of a fight that occurred. Police reported that the incident involved "multiple juveniles" in the location who are in the current area but apparently do not live there or have the authority to throw a party and are refusing to leave.

The video of Casebolt is now trending and has reached over 9 million views on YouTube. McKinney Police chief Greg Conley said that he had 12 officers on the scene and 11 of those officers followed their training. Casebolt has not yet given a public statement about his actions. T

his incident continues to raise the idea of racial bias especially under age minorities. Though there are some people you accept Casebolts behavior, it is clear that his actions were unprofessional and inappropriate considering the fact that only the black teens were being controlled, as seen in the video.

The video may serve as a reminder to other police officers to stay calm in every situation, remember their training, and to act fairly with no bias in mind.
