Carrie Fisher’s Daughter, Billie Lourd, Denies ‘Star Wars’ Rumors – Part Of ‘Force Awakens’ Cast, But NOT Princess Leia’s Daughter

Carrie Fisher's daughter is now officially the third generation of women in her family working in Hollywood, after her grandmother Debbie Reynolds (from classic films like "Singin' in the Rain") and her mother, most famous for playing the role of Princess Leia.

Now, as "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" approaches its theater release next December to open a third trilogy of the story of a galaxy far, far away, Carrie Fisher's daughter, Billie Lourd, is definitely part of the cast - and although the obvious choice would be for her to play Princess Leia's daughter (and therefore Natalie Portman's grandmother), that's not the role she's playing.

According to E! Online, while Carrie Fisher's daughter has denied she's playing Luke Skywalker's niece, there's little further information about what role will she be taking on exactly - of course, the first film of the new "Star Wars" trilogy has been surrounded by mystery since its announcement.

Besides Carrie Fisher's daughter, the new film will also star Fisher herself reprising her role, Mark Hammil and even Harrison Ford filling in the famous Han Solo outfit once again while joined by pal Chewbacca - and additions include Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o, "Girls" actor Adam Driver and legendary Swedish actor Max von Sydow.

The Wrap reports that, although Carrie Fisher's daughter comes from a home of actresses, her entire family told her to get a college degree instead of pursuing the so-called family business - and now, after having graduated from NYU last year, she decided to pursue the dream of going into acting.

She was lucky enough to get a huge break with the J.J. Abrams highly expected film, but her second on-screen credit is just as impressive: she's part of the cast of "Scream Queens" alongside Jamie Lee Curtis and Lea Michele.

Yahoo! News reports that, besides being surrounded by rumors of playing Princess Leia's daughter, it was also said she'd be Leia herself in a flashback sequence - but Carrie Fisher's daughter has also denied this.
