It's not certain whether or not the NBA fanatic is rooting for the Warriors or Cavs. However, the amount of money he/she shelled out must have been worth it to witness the most-awaited MVP-to-MVP match.
This season's MVP Stephen Curry lead his team to victory with a score of 108-100, beating the group lead by four-time MVP LeBron James. The play-off was filled with suspense that it got the audience off their seats until it reached overtime.
"It was just a classic five minutes that we needed to get that win," Stephen Curry tells Associated Press' Antonio Gonzalez, after scoring 26 points and eight assists.
After 13 lead changes and 11 ties, the Cavaliers broke the hearts of Cleveland fans, with superstar player LeBron, missing 18 of his 38 shots.
"We got to do more around him," said Cavaliers coach, David Blatt.
The Cavs' point guard, Kyrie Irving's absence due to knee injury has also affected the team play.
Both teams have not had a championship trophy and especially for the Warriors, this is the first time they get a shot at the coveted title in 40 years. This is also the first time the Warriors and Cavaliers faced each other at the finals.
The Cavs' last appearance at the NBA finals was in 2007, when they failed to secure the championship trophy against the San Antonio Spurs.
Game 2 is scheduled on June 7, Sunday at the ORACLE Arena in Oakland, California.
Succeeding games are scheduled at 9:00 PM ET on June 9 and June 11, and if needed, June 14, 16, and 19.
