Justin Bieber Pleads Guilty In Canada For Careless Driving And Assault

Justin Bieber's lawyer confirmed that the pop star pleaded guilty for careless driving and assault near Bieber's Canadian hometown. The charge was linked to a collision and altercation with a photographer.

21 year old Justin Bieber will pay a fine of C$750 ($600.00) for careless driving, and was found guilty of assault however the successful singer was not convicted of the latter charge. A C$100 compulsory fee however had to be paid for the victim's surcharge

The additional charge of dangerous driving was dropped as part of the plea.

The incident happened last November 2014, when Bieber visited his then girlfriend Selena Gomez in Stratford, Ontario Canada. The celebrity couple were chased by Paparazzi, which pissed off the popstar prompting him to drive his ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) and crashed the minivan of a photographer.

Police told the local media that Bieber and a paparazzo were "engaged in a physical altercation."

Brian Greenspan lawyer of Justin Bieber said the charge were dropped for the assault  as it is  "recognized the fact that it was an incident that was somewhat provoked and that it lasted less than a minute," and that "he acknowledged what he did."

Lawyer Greenspan also said that Bieber accepted his obligation to the court.

"The assault was described even by the photographer as a couple of slaps, certainly three at the most, that he deflected with his shoulder."

As stated by Joseph Brean a reporter of National Post, the pop star attended the proceedings via video link and not in person - Bieber was "standing politely with his hands folded, wearing white dress shirt, in front of two dreary paintings."

Bieber's lawyers said  that their client can't be present for he was on a  "peaceful retreat."

This is not the first time that Justin have encountered brushes with the law/ On one account in Florida  he was into drag racing under the influence of drugs and alcohol, using a Lamborghini. Another one was in California was misdemeanor vandalism where he attacked a neighbor's home with eggs.
