Janet Jackson Has A New Label and New Album To Release

After 7 years since she released her last album, Janet Jackson is dropping a new one in the fall of this year. The singer made the announcement on her website on June 3 and it will be distributed by BMG under her new label, Rhythm Nation Records.

CNN reported that the new album might be entitled "Conversations In A Café," because that was the hashtag that the singer used on Twitter when she tried to give her fans some hint about her new works on an upcoming album. She then made more explanations about it through a video that was on that tweet. It's the same video that automatically plays on her website whenever fans visit it.

This is the first time that Jackson is coming out again since her 2008 album called Discipline. The Rolling Stone said that the singer in her new label would create a new home to both upcoming and established recording artists. Her partnership with BMG is based on an artist services deal. It is a deal that is not like what the conventional label offers to artists. This one lets the artists have the "full oversight of all costs and revenues" along with the retention of the ownership of the materials made by the artist. According to Billboard, the same deal with BMG went through with other singers like Estelle and Deborah Cox just to name a few.

ET Online said that the announcement was made just after the singer wrapped up some rehearsals for her upcoming world tour. The news is not just about her releasing a new album after 7 years, but it's also the fact that she has now become the second African American female singer to own a record label. All her visions of her new company are going to be coming true with the help of BMG. Fans all over the world are quite excited based on the replies the artists got from her Twitter page.
