It's officially a goodbye to another 'The Bachelor' couple as Chris Soules and Whitney Bischof have ended their relationship after a two-month engagement.
Supporters and fans of the former reality TV love team were surprised after news broke out Thursday, May 28.
Following the 19th season Finale, the 33-year old American farmer shared that he had picked Bischoff over Becca Tilley as he felt that Whitney was a 'sure thing,' while Tilley was unsure and quite not set to make commitments.
Soules said a relationship with Twilley would have been a "challenge" due to their distance and the mere fact that Twilley has never been involved in a relationship. However he said, "I was falling in love with both of them at the same time."
"I think you have to use logic in any relationship and looking at Whitney's situation and looking at her being in Chicago and being career-oriented and ready to settle down, those sorts of things are really attractive to me.", Soules added.
During the same day that Bischoff and Soules announced the end of their engagement, The Bachelor host Chris Harrison had also spoken about the sad break-up. In an interview with US Weekly, the 43-year old host said that he was sorry for Soules and Bischoff after hearing the news.
"They're just two kids that were hopefully going to get married and they're not now and that's sad... they're still two people going through a breakup, so it's still tough. I wish them the best.", Harrison said.
Earlier this month, Soules had dismissed the 'split' rumors, saying "We're together and we're in love. We're making the best of a really cool situation."
Though the sad turn of their love story was not what their fans had been expecting, a source told US Weekly that both have parted ways with "nothing but respect and admiration for one another and will continue to be supportive friends."
