Everyone was heartbroken when news broke out of Katy Perry and Russell Brand's marriage a few years ago in 2011. Katy just revealed some interesting details about her relationship with the comedian.
She shared that the two have not spoken since Brand initiated the divorce. "[He] hasn't spoken to me since he texted me saying he was filing for divorce," Perry spoke to the Daily Telegraph.
She added, "I don't want to talk about him - my songs will say what I need to say."
The 32-year-old singer was married to Brand for 14 months. But the 2012 divorce isn't bringing Katy down at all. In fact, the "The One That Got Away" singer is still strapping her armor of love.
"I'm excited by whatever it brings. I'm excited by my own evolution. I don't want to end up bittersweet," she said about the divorce.
Instead of wallowing in her disheartenment, the pop diva chooses to make a better change for her own good. "I have to evolve, I have to continue to push people's perceptions of me. As an artist I like to do that, keep people on the edge of their seats," she said, via ABC News.
Katy Perry, as the inspiration that she is to many, also talked about dealing with one's fears. "I'm one of those people that likes to be fearless. I don't like to live in fear because that traps you and your voices," she voiced.
Perry continued, "Fear is a control tactic in the world that is negative and depressing and I don't want to be associated with it."

Katy has a pet cat she used to call Rusty, which was a combination of her name and her ex-beau's. Known for her love of animals, Perry has changed the cat's name to Monkey following her divorce.
