Alicia Vikander's star is definitely on the rise. After starring as a beautiful android in Alex Garland's 'Ex Machina,' the Swedish actress is being courted to join the cast of 'Assassin's Creed' and the new Jason Bourne movie.
According to Deadline, one movie that might lose the actress is the Tom Hanks flick 'The Circle.' The film is looking for a new female lead in case Vikander drops out of the project. The producers of 'Circle' have reportedly offered the role to Emma Watson, who is best known for playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series.
If Vikander decides to join 'Assassin's Creed,' she will be reunited with 'The Light between Oceans' costar Michael Fassbender. The live-action adaptation of the popular video game already has Fassbender and 'Macbeth' costar Marion Cotillard in the cast.
The new Bourne movie will mark the return of Matt Damon to the franchise. Damon has previously announced that he will not make another 'Bourne' movie unless director Paul Greengrass is in the project. The actor and the director are currently working on the screenplay for the film, which is set to be released by July 2016.
Vikander's first major film role was in the Swedish drama 'Pure,' for which she won Sweden's Guldbagge Award for Best Actress. She was also nominated for the BAFTA Rising Star Award for her performance in 2012's 'Anna Karenina.' The actress recently starred alongside Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore in the action fantasy film 'The Seventh Son.'
Whatever happens for either movie, Vikander will still be very busy. The actress has just finished filming for movies like 'Tulip Fever,' 'Adam Jones' and 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.' She is currently shooting 'The Danish Girl' with Eddie Redmayne and Amber Heard, and the film is scheduled for release on November 27, 2015.
