'Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials' Reveals Movie Trailer and Poster [VIDEO]

The much-awaited sequel to the film adaptation of 'Maze Runner' has just released a new poster and an exciting trailer.

The poster shows a city in ruins in a vast desert as the Gladers look up at the view. The tagline simply reads, "The Maze was just the beginning."

The movie trailer expands a bit more on what the poster is all about. The Gladers are taken from the Maze, only to end up in a new prison. After realizing that they are not safe, Thomas and the Gladers manage to escape into the Scorch.

The full synopsis is as follows:

"Thomas (Dylan O'Brien) and his fellow Gladers face their greatest challenge yet: searching for clues about the mysterious and powerful organization known as WCKD. Their journey takes them to the Scorch, a desolate landscape filled with unimaginable obstacles. Teaming up with resistance fighters, the Gladers take on WCKD's vastly superior forces and uncover its shocking plans for them all."

O'Brien is best known for playing the sarcastic Stiles Stilinski in the MTV series 'Teen Wolf.' He had a minor role in the Vince Vaughn/Owen Wilson comedy 'The Internship.' O'Brien is currently working on the disaster drama 'Deepwater Horizon,' which is scheduled for release on September 30, 2016.

'The Scorch Trials' is based on the second book in James Dashner's Maze Runner trilogy. The screenplay for the film was written by T.S. Nowlin. The movie also stars Kaya Scodelario, Ki Hong Lee, Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Patricia Clarkson.

The sequel will introduce several new faces which include Lili Taylor, Giancarlo Esposito, Rosa Salazar and Jacob Lofland. Aidan Gillen, who is best known for playing Petyr Baelish in 'Game of Thrones,' will make an appearance as Janson/Rat-Man.

'Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials' is directed by Wes Ball and will be released on September 18, 2015.
