Having been in Hollywood for more than 20 years (plus having a father that has himself worked in soap operas for decades), there's no doubt that the "Friends" star is more than acquainted with a few members of the controversial church - but how close is Jennifer Aniston to Scientology?
Over the past few months, the Church of Scientology is back on headlines through a new series of controversies following the release of the HBO documentary "Going Clear," which supposedly exposes a number of wrongful and corrupt practices in the famous celebrity church - and now that the details are out, it could be the turn for Jennifer Aniston's Scientology history as well.
According to The National Enquirer, the actress isn't part of the Church but she's aware of how much power they have in Hollywood, particularly managing secrets - and those are currently Jennifer Aniston's Scientology fears.
It has been said that documentary maker Louis Theroux, the cousin of Aniston's fiancé Justin and famous for his BBC Two specials, is currently working on a project to further the ideas of "Going Clear" into a new made-for-television film - and with the Church's history in extortion, Jennifer Aniston's Scientology fears have surfaced.
"Jen knows Scientology can play dirty, which is why she's always steered clear of them," said a source to Radar Online, speaking about Jennifer Aniston's Scientology fears. "Jen worries Scientology will try to embarrass her by revealing details about everything from her divorce with Brad Pitt to her struggles with infertility to her estrangement from her mom. She's begging Justin to get Louis to drop his project."
Red Book Magazine reports that the first steps towards demonizing the documentary filmmaker have already been taken on the part of the controversial Church, as they're apparently prepping their own tell-all about Louis Theroux - though it's unclear whether it'll involve his cousin Justin or his fiancée Jennifer.
At this point, it's hard to see whether the Jennifer Aniston Scientology rumors have any truth behind them.
