In a time when television is filled with antiheroes and truly horrible human beings as main characters (such as Walter White from "Breaking Bad" or most notably Frank Underwood from "House of Cards"), Joe Morton's Rowan Pope is by far and wide one of the most evil ones - but will he be defeated in the "Scandal" season 4 episode 22, the season finale?
Before the "Scandal" season 4 episode 22 airs tonight, marking the end of the fourth season, it's important to recap what went down the last time around: Huck and Quinn (Guillermo Diaz and Katie Lowes) tortured Russell (Brian White) at length trying to get him to talk about what "Foxtail" was codename for when Livvie (Kerry Washington) realized he was the one who tried to kill Jake (Scott Foley); however, he never bulged and was ultimately rescued by "Virgil" (Dan Byrd), a B613 agent.
In the very last scene of last week's episode, the identity of codename Foxtail was finally revealed: Mellie Grant (Bellamy Young), whose Virginia Senate campaign Rowan is supporting, which will be one of the main themes in the "Scandal" season 4 episode 22.
According to Melty, the "Scandal" season 4 episode 22 will have two primary focuses: bringing down spy organization B613 and Mellie finally going to elections in Virginia and knowing her own political fate.
Of course, considering that everything that went down in that regard was a complete secret from her, Mellie has no idea it was Rowan behind her son's death, as she finally meets Olivia's very evil father.
Yibada reports that one of the "Scandal" season 4 episode 22 promo clips shows Olivia saying they should do anything to bring down her father, no matter who gets hurt in the process ... and is ultimately shown behind bars.
Could they have beaten Rowan at the highest cost?
TV Fanatic reports that one of the very high costs could be President Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn) getting killed in the episode ... but would Olivia allow that?
