Even though the original show starring Bob Saget, John Stamos and Dave Coulier has been off the air for two decades, with the coming remake it seems like there are news about the hit show just about every week these days - and Lifetime's jumping in on that with a "Full House" secrets' tell-all.
After the original show aired, two of its youngest cast members (namely the Olsen twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley) became megastars and built an empire well worth hundreds of millions of dollars, and from then on it seems like there are few "Full House" secrets, but that's not the story Lifetime wants to tell.
In recent years, Lifetime movies have become something of a joke, often heavily criticized by friends and family of those near whoever's biography the film intends to show; recent ill attempts at biopics have included Whitney Houston, Aaliyah, Nicole Kidman's ill-fated Grace Kelly film and, similarly to the "Full House" secrets show, one for another beloved family-friendly 90s sitcom, "Saved by the Bell."
Now, CNNs reports that the new "Full House" secrets biopic isn't even authorized by any of the show's cast or creators, as it often happens with these Lifetime movies.
The television film, which for now is called "The Unauthorized Full House Story" according to The Hollywood Reporter has been green lit by the network and tell the story of the "rise and fall" of its cast, including past problems that are hardly "Full House" secrets, such as Mary-Kate Olsen's eating disorder issues or Jodie Sweetin overcoming an addiction to drugs.
Us Weekly reports that John Stamos took to Twitter to talk about the new Lifetime movie, after the channel confirmed that it was in the works earlier this week.
"Full House TV movie on @lifetimetv ??" tweeted the actor, linking the story about the "Full House" secrets movie. "Hmmmm - yeah right, good luck with that."
