Following the 2010 sequel to the 80s science fiction film, new reports say that there'll be a third part to the cult sci fi saga, and apparently Olivia Wilde's "Tron" role is set to appear once more inside the world expanded by "Legacy" - and she won't be alone!
The 2010 film, a much expected sequel from the then almost 30 year-old film, featured Olivia Wilde's "Tron" character, Quorra, as well as Garrett Hedlund as Sam Flynn and even Oscar-winning actor Jeff Bridges back as Kevin Flynn, the character he originally played in the 1982 film.
Now, according to Time Magazine, it seems like Olivia Wilde's "Tron" character is set to return for the third part of the story, which the magazine calls a "threequel" - in it, the two main cast members are set to make their return to the film's universe, once again directed by "Legacy" man-behind-the-scenes Joseph Kosinski.
The first to break the news was The Hollywood Reporter, saying that Olivia Wilde's "Tron" character would be returning for the sequel after the film's predecessor grossed $400 million worldwide at the time of its release. Seemingly, Justin Springer, who was a part of the previous installment as well as "Oblivion," is set to produce the new movie.
The movie would be currently in pre-production and would begin shooting this fall in the British Columbia city of Vancouver.
Entertainment Weekly confirmed news of Olivia Wilde's "Tron" return, and the film is rumored to be between titles right now, and no further information has been giving by execs at Disney.
Considering how "TRON: Legacy" ended, it seems unlikely that the star of the original film and supporting member of the second one, Jeff Bridges, will make a return for the third installment of the saga.
For now, there are no dates set for Olivia Wilde's "Tron" return.
